Pensum Support

This page answers the questions that come up most often about Pensum. If yours is not here: app@goswami.de. General matters are on the support page, data handling in the privacy policy.

Best written from inside the app: Profile → Contact. App version, iOS version and device are then already in the message.

Eleven of them: mental arithmetic, number series, propositional logic, memorising numbers, patterns and shapes, word logic, pattern sequences, operator puzzles, target numbers, matrix building and hatched images. A round mixes them, and which ones come up is decided anew each round, so the same kind does not keep reappearing.

On first launch a short placement test sets your level. After that Pensum adjusts it on its own, as long as Profile → Adjust level automatically is switched on.

Turn that off and the level stays where it is until you change it yourself. If the placement went wrong, you can retake it via Profile → New here.

Under Profile → Tasks per round you set how many tasks a round contains. The change applies from the next round; one already in progress stays as it started.

Under Profile → Export history Pensum writes a CSV file and hands it to the share sheet — from there into Files, an email or a spreadsheet app.

The columns are round number, date, category, level, correct/incorrect and seconds per task. Pensum is the only one of the three apps with an export.

Under Profile → Reminder you can set a daily notification at a fixed time, optionally at weekends too. If you have already trained that day, it stays quiet — that is deliberate.

If nothing arrives, check the iOS settings under Notifications → Pensum. Notifications are scheduled locally on the device; there are no push servers.

Pensum offers home screen widgets in two sizes plus two shapes for the lock screen. They show streak and progress from the local state of the same device. When they are redrawn is decided by iOS — after a round it can take a moment for the value to catch up.

No. Pensum requests no Health permission and reads no health data. The app contains no networking code either: results, levels and streak stay on the device.

Under Profile → Data → Delete all data you remove history, levels and streak for good. There is no copy on a server that could be restored. If you want to keep your history, export it as CSV first.

Under Profile → Language Pensum can be set to English or German independently of the system. Date and number formats only follow on the next app launch — that is a quirk of iOS, not a bug.

No. There is a voluntary tip — one-off, no subscription, and it unlocks nothing. Billing and refunds are handled by Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com.
